In the heart of Oslo, on Rosenkrantz gate, Kaffistova has served Norwegian food since 1901. The first Kaffistova opened as early as 1901. Our food is well made and homemade, based on good Norwegian food traditions. Journalists and tourists, authors and students all find a seat here, and everyone gets the same warm welcome.
From 7 November, roast pork belly, pinnekjøtt and lutefisk are on the menu. We sell over four tonnes of kjøttkaker (Norwegian meat cakes) a year, so they are on the menu too.Come in, take off your coat and sit down.

Kaffistova has served traditional Norwegian food for more than a century. The first café opened in 1901 with traditional carved and painted wood-furniture. Some of the original interior is on display at the Norwegian Folk Museum at Bygdøy.
In our days, the cafe is held in a modern and light style with several pictures and details connecting the present with the past. 140 seats on two floors allow us to arrange lunch and dinner for groups up to 100 people.
Japanese, French and American guests frequently visit the restaurant during the summer. They usually find that our menu represents a good opportunity totry the authentic Norwegian cuisine.
